PET - Polyethylene Terephthalate

PET film is a strong, clear, high-performance plastic film widely used as the outer layer in laminated food packaging.

PET is known for:

  • High strength & durability

  • Excellent clarity and gloss

  • Great printability (colours look sharp and vibrant)

  • Good dimensional stability

  • Heat resistance

  • Moderate barrier against oxygen and moisture

Because of these properties, PET is almost always used as the top layer (outer layer) in structures like:

  • PET / PE

  • PET / AL / PE

  • PET / VMPET / PE

  • PET / NY / PE

Types of PET used in packaging
